Hi there!! I never envisioned myself as a writer, but a life-changing cancer diagnosis in 2017 forced me to look back on my life in the mountains of East Tennessee. Suddenly I had a lot of time on my hands and I realized I hadn’t shared what life as a child was like in those hills. I needed to leave a legacy “roots” for my children and grandchildren. As Appalachians, we’re a strong people, a peculiar people. I wanted them to feel the history that runs through their veins. So… The Tin Cup Clan series was born. Yes, it’s fiction, but as in most really good fiction, there must be a kernel of truth. I’m gonna leave it up to your imagination as to when the fiction ends and the “real” begins. As you read the posts about the members of the “Tin Cup Clan” please take the time to read the stories in the childhood tab. There you will find various excerpts from other books that are in the works. These are true memories of mine put to page.
